Historical Funicular
Although the railway has been subject to certain technical renewal, today it radiates the same nostalgic and romantic charm as it did way back in the year 1879. The funicular railway travels a 345 meter-long stretch ascending a total 104 meter altitude between the enchanting Grand Hotel and its own boat pier called Giessbach-See. The four minute ride takes you through the woods, over bridges and alongside waterfalls. The way to see the multi-level waterfalls is on foot, with one of the footpaths leading behind the waterfall without you getting wet.
