The path leading to a place is like the gateway to an inner feeling. This particular path hugs Lake Brienz and rises up to the Giessbach, the waterfall that spills out from the Giesse Stream. Like an artery leading to the heart, the steep, narrow mountain road takes us to the Grandhotel Giessbach. Upon arrival, we are plunged into another universe, another time. Coming to the Grandhotel Giessbach is a journey deep within yourself that will transform your thoughts.
Take the train to Interlaken Ost (Interlaken East), then take the scheduled passenger boat to the “Giessbach See” landing stage.
Or take the train to Brienz, and then take the passenger boat to “Giessbach See”.
For the final leg of your journey to the hotel from “Giessbach See”, take our historical funicular railway.
Have you booked your stay with us by phone, email or through the hotel website? If so, you are entitled as an individual guest (no groups) to free travel on the entire Lake Brienz network, free admission to the Freilichtmuseum Ballenberg (the open-air museum), and a free afternoon trip on the Brienz Rothorn Railway. All exclusively yours thanks to the Giessbach Nostalgia Pass, which you will receive directly upon confirmation of your hotel room booking.
